Membership
What makes BDYC unique is that it’s not just a marina — it’s a non-profit club run mostly by volunteers. Our members participate in the Docks-in and Docks-out at the beginning and end of the season, and everyone contributes to making the club a great place to be.
Membership Types

| Junior | Ages 12–19. May own a dinghy or catamaran. |
| Student | Under 30, currently enrolled in school. May own a dinghy or catamaran. |
| Crew | Crew for races with boat-owning members. No boat required. |
| Social | Enjoy the club’s social events and facilities. No boat required. |
Fees
Fees vary based on membership type, boat size, berth location (shore or water), winter storage, and residency status. Here are some examples:

How to Join

- Complete the BDYC Application Form — print and email to membership@bdyc.com
- Have a casual meeting with the Membership Director
- Receive your invoice for payment
Note: There is currently a waiting list of 5–10 people for non-boat-owner memberships and approximately 10 for water berths. Get in touch early!
Volunteer Requirements
BDYC is a volunteer-run club, and all members are expected to contribute. Key volunteer obligations include:
- Docks-in & Docks-out: All members participate in installing the docks in spring and removing them in fall. These are mandatory work days.
- Work Hours: Members are required to contribute a minimum number of volunteer hours each season (see the fee schedule for work-hour credits and charges).
- BBQ Hosting: Members can earn volunteer credits by hosting a Saturday BBQ at the club.
Dinghy & Catamaran Owners
Do you have a sailing dinghy or catamaran and would love to sail on Lake St-Louis? BDYC is just 30 minutes from downtown Montreal, and our members come from Vaudreuil, the West Island, LaSalle, and the South Shore.
As a dinghy or catamaran owner at BDYC, you get:
- Dry berth slip for your dinghy or catamaran
- Optional ramp slip for catamarans
- Free access to 3 club dinghies
- Social events and BBQs every Saturday
- Club and inter-club racing privileges
Three membership types are available for small-boat sailors:
- Family — includes partner and children
- Student — under 30, currently enrolled in school
- Junior — ages 12–19
